Hoodie’d

You can count on me to never be seen with a hood attached to my shirt.

This bias goes way back to my childhood. It all started with a neighborhood football game played under a regulatory scheme that mirrored prison rules. I’ll spare you the details other than to say that when you see a kid stopped short by being grabbed by his hoodie, you’ll never wear one again.

Imagine my surprise when this St. Louis subject arrived for our south city street session wearing my least favorite article of clothing.

In fairness to him, he followed all of the wardrobe guidance to the letter. Add in that he was 15 minutes early.

He was a natural in front of the camera and in no time I completely forgot about my irrational sweatshirt phobia.
