There’s plenty of natural beauty in Hermosa Beach. It’s a great place to keep your eyes engaged if sand, ocean, and sunshine appeal to you.
As if that’s not enough, there’s a plentiful amount of public art.
I don’t typically incorporate the artwork of others when I create a portrait. Not because I’m selfish, but because I don’t want anything to compete with the human element of the final image.
As my subject and I made our way up the hill from the pier, we avoided the crowds and stayed clear of some sculptures and other found art.
On the last setup, one particular mural spoke to us in a way that made it irresistible.
I think it was the hands that drew us in. It’s great to know that someone had as much fun making their art as I had making mine.
