Hedge of Inspiration

Coming upon any hedge immediately calls to mind the work of the late Rodney Smith.

It is impossible not to be inspired by the photographs he created with people in sculpted environments.

His passing came as a shock to me. Not just for the loss of a visual artist but as a blogger whose writing was candid and raw. He discussed real topics that bedevil commercial artists without sanitizing or hiding the names of the bad actors.

His work is still visible online, which is great news. I’m sure his archive is still earning, as it should. However, the blog is gone, though not forgotten.
