Govern Yourself Accordingly

Rules for thee, not for me.

Move fast, break things.

Ask for forgiveness, not for permission.

A second chance for one’s second chance’s second chance.

I’ll just write a check.

In just a few hours in Big Sky, Montana I saw all of this in action. It was quite strange, though not enough to diminish the natural beauty of the place or to negatively impact the great time I had.

Then again, Big Sky is an outlier by comparison to the rest of the state.

My favorite thing about the American West is a general lack of nanny state oversight. In places like Cody, Wyoming you won’t be subjected to nonsensical rules.

Just know that your actions have consequences and govern yourself accordingly.
