How much of Lou Reed’s portrait relies on his celebrity?

The same can be said of the photographer, the late Chuck Close. He was a giant in the art world as was Lou Reed in music.

I’m not sure how that translates into public art. My ignorance probably has a lot to do with why the 86th Street subway station doesn’t contain any of my work.

The transit folks made a clear decision to “get Close.”
