From Her Hands

It started with a chunk of stone.

Big machines tore it out of the ground. Another device cut it into a block.

A boat carried it across the sea to another continent.

It was trucked to the artist’s workshop in Topanga.

That was the easy part. Then the hard work began.

From her hands, with her tools, this emerged.
