When a photography session is a success, I try to find a way to work with the subject again.
The first session with Annis was a few years ago in St. Charles, Missouri. I knew that she was going to be great when I arrived at the meeting point on Main Street.
Contrary to my wardrobe guidance, Annis was wearing a hat. Keep in mind that “guidance” isn’t a rule. Also, I’m not opposed to having my mind changed, which is what happened. Every winning frame of the session included a hat.
When we got together two weeks ago, I knew I wanted to do something different.
The resulting portrait was everything that I had hoped it would be.
