Flagship of the Fleet

A big law firm booked me for a couple of days to photograph some of their senior partners. They’re based in Kansas City, and the sessions took place in different locations in both Missouri and Kansas.

A few were at their downtown office. It was tastefully decorated and had plenty of elbow room for photography.

The firm and I got along very well. The initial gig turned into a multi-year relationship. Along the way, I was dispatched to all of their offices. The bigger ones required multiple trips.

Somehow, it took a few years before I got to their small outpost in Wichita. It was the only one I had not yet visited.

Imagine my surprise when I got there and discovered that they had the most opulent space of the multi-city firm.

When I mentioned to a few attorneys that their office was clearly the flagship of the fleet, the response was a smile and a request that I not share that secret with other members of the firm.
