Fitting In
Each of us is blasted with a firehose of visual “content” every waking hour of the day.
The media purveyors claim that goal is to engage. More often than not, the viewer is enraged, not engaged. All of this from a technolgy framework that could be greater than the library of Alexandria if deployed differently.
Visual art is a universal language. The best work draws us in and gives us a momentary respite from our troubles.
When you know the creator of great works, the experience is enhanced.
Watching Caroline Chen at work in her Delaware studio was that kind of encounter for me.
