A few weeks ago I was wandering around in Cody, Wyoming while listening to a Seth Godin podcast. It was called “Find the Others” which was a little more complicated than the title implies.
During this walkabout, I stopped to photograph a few objects and oddities but I never had the opportunity for a real portrait.
That is until I found another. Another photographer to be exact. The front door was open to a gallery on the corner 12th and Sheridan Avenue, which was all the invitation I needed.
The place is called Open Range Images which is true to its name. There’s a wide representation of local photography on display. On this day, one of the contributors was minding the place.
Her name is Vicky Olson.
It didn’t take long for a conversation to start. That’s always the catalyst for other good things. In this case, it led to a portrait session the next day.
Even in Cody, there are others like me. Finding one was a real treat.
