Exquisitely Noncompliant

There’s a nonstop battle between rule-breakers vs. rule-makers. Unlike all other wars, this looks like it will never end.

There are those that insist that you color within the lines, stay in your own lane and follow the guidelines.

Then there are others who don’t seem to see any lines at all and just ignore what’s been laid down.

Neither is the right path.

I’ve learned that if you make a rule that can’t be broken, you’re setting yourself up for failure. If you break a rule without knowing why the rule existed in the first place, you’re childish.

Ask any artist about lines and you’ll find that the great ones create their own.

This mural on a wall in downtown Austin proves my point.
