Elbow Sync

This was the first painting I saw when I arrived at Dean Mosher’s studio in Fairhope, Alabama.

It was just one of many finished canvas that were ready to be shipped.

Something about the power and presence of the subject caught my eye. I asked Dean if we could start the session with a portrait of him and that painting.

The way he placed his elbow in sync with that of his subject was harbinger of many pleasant surpries to come that day.
