Eighth Avenue Freeze Out

If you schedule an outdoor photo session in New York in February, should the cold weather be a surprise?

This day was expectedly cold though not unbearable for locals or a visiting photographer. With the weather in mind, we wasted no time.

Our meeting place was on the corner of 8th Avenue and 52nd Street. The plan was to walk north, stopping along the way for any opportunities.

We didn’t have to go far before the winner was in the bag. In fact, the first few frames were captured at our meeting place.

This portrait was one of those.

Admittedly, we were both pretty cold by the end. Nearly frozen actually.

It hardly mattered because we both knew that the session was a success. Maybe not worthy of a Springsteen song, but certainly perfect for a freezing winter day.
