Chicago Disorientation
This is a snippet of my conversation with Chicago on April 18, 2018. A day which still leaves me baffled.
Me: Why is there snow, wind and falling ice on April 17, 2018?
Chicago: Today is April 18. Yesterday was April 17, also known as tax day.
Me: I thought tax day was April 15.
Chicago: Not this year.
Me: I thought falling ice was a winter event?
Chicago: It’s a three season event here. Welcome to Spring.
Me: I thought Spring involved warm temperatures?
Chicago: Not this year.
Me: At least the John Hancock Building is kind enough to post signs warning me of this danger.
Chicago: This is not the John Hancock Building.
Me: It sure looks like the John Hancock Building.
Chicago: This is the 875 North Michigan Avenue Building.
Me: Is it as tall as the Sears Tower?
Chicago: …um….
Me: Let’s take a break and try again in June.
Chicago: Yes, let’s.
