Let’s be specific.

It’s not the west end, which won’t ever be confused with the one in London.

It’s the Central West End. This is a precise way of saying it’s the middle of the west side of the City of St. Louis.

Locals who find it burdensome to write “Central West End” will abbreviate it as CWE.

This CWE session took place there on Euclid Avenue, not far from Maryland Avenue. For me, neither of those names spark any link to either geometry or crab cakes.

Then again, I’m only thinking about light and composition, not geographic precision.
