It’s interesting when the container for a large personality is too small to hold it all.
This might be why people turn to art.
Even within art, time and space is forced to expand.
Canvas too small? Instead of expanding side to side, add another dimension.
Layers can be added. With sculpture, it’s the reverse. Material is removed in order to reveal.
Speaking of revealing, my session with Suzy Farren was exactly that. Her studio in Webster Groves, Missouri is exactly what you might expect to see from an artist who creates using the following statement, “I stitch, I write, I glue. I rip, I paint, I mend. I stitch, I rip, I patch.”
Her personality matches her art.
