Over the course of 15 years, I’ve used online casting services to find portrait subjects for my stock photography business.
When it’s time for new sessions, I always use the same language for the opportunity. The role that I’m filling for each photoshoot is for a “confident individual.”
Some people find this simple description to be ambiguous or even confusing. Those that do, aren’t suitable. By figuring this out early, I am able to save a lot of time for all involved.
The best subjects really take the role to heart. Not only do they bring an abundance of confidence to the gig, they almost always do so in a way that’s contagious. This pays creative dividends that no amount of production money could ever buy.
This recent session in Florida tells the story in a way that words can’t.
