Most commercial artists know that you can never wish enough to make the phone ring. We also know that the best gigs come along when you’re least expecting them.
For a photographer of people, things have been more than a little weird lately.
Yesterday, when I was least expecting it, a request came in for a project in a city that’s always been good to me.
That’s right; a gig in Chicago.
After a long hiatus, I’ll soon get to do things that I would normally do four or five times a year. A short flight to Midway, Orange Line train to The Loop, and high hotel views of the city.
I think it’s fitting that Chicago is the place where I’ll be getting back in my groove.
It made me think of a session from a few summers ago that took place near the Wrigley Building. My subject’s expression mirrors how I’m feeling now.
