Chef Prep

Cooking reminds me of working in the darkroom. Both are places of mystery and magic. Also, practice improves each endeavor.

It doesn’t take long to end up with pretty good results. In short order, one can become good enough to keep coming back without being discouraged.

Diving deep is also possible with a minimum of stuff and a lot of desire.

Back in the days of analog film, visiting another pro’s darkroom was a rare treat. That specialized space revealed a lot about the artist.

The same goes for chefs and their kitchens.

A walk through the kitchen preceded this portrait of a chef at a senior community in Kirkwood, Missouri.

I can’t imagine a better preparation.
