Character Study

It never ceases to amaze me that if I only keep my eyes open, the city will provide me with a tailored solution that fits better than a suit from Saville Row.

It was purely accidental that one of the hardest stones on Earth became the background for a man with one of the softest hearts.

In this case, the end result was a complete departure from my usual approach. I always try to keep a distinct separation between my subject and the background. I’m there to capture the essence of the person, not copy the scenery.

I create portraits not landscapes.

But having this man touching that stone was too powerful to ignore. The portrait speaks to strength, resilience, and character.

It’s great to see them in their natural states.
