Burger Blog Paparazzi

If you are a subscriber to the Tokyo Burger Blog or if you’re acquainted with the blog’s author Jeremy Goldberg, you would have taken this picture too. Or if you are simply the kind of person who will stop a pedestrian and ask to photograph his shirt then it’d be on your camera roll for sure.

Burger aficionado Jeremy splits his time between Tokyo and Los Angeles with a day job of photographing some pretty interesting people and environments. When he’s not behind the camera, he’s evangelizing about burgers. I’ve been lucky to have received an extensive burger education with him in Los Angeles at places like Apple Pan, Honor Bar and Mo Better Burgers.

This training has resulted in my constant search for burger-related content that would allow me to be the first contributor to his blog. After years of search I finally hit the jackpot in the Bahamas last week.

I saw this guy walking toward me and I knew I couldn’t let him pass without a photograph. As it turned out we had a bit of a language barrier owing to his citizenship in an unspecified European country. But after some chatting and gesturing I got this photo and an interesting backstory on the shirt.

My subject bought his shirt at a boutique in Spain. Strangely, not only has he not been to Tokyo, he may or may not actually eat meat.

I’m going to leave the possible vegetarian part out of my submission.
