Bucket Holes

Chain link fence is quite unattractive. Most of it could go away and the world would be better off. There are some instances in which it makes sense, like this one that surrounds some tennis courts.

The advantage is that you can still see in and out while keeping stray balls corralled.

That was the case for the courts near my house. It all changed with the installation of this blue netting. The purpose eludes me.

It’s not like something is happening on the courts that needs some semblance of privacy. Or maybe it does.

The oddest thing to me are the peepholes cut into the fabric. Some at eye level and some beyond where a ladder could reach.

Nonsensical mysteries have their appeal, but these bucket holes raise it to a new level.
