Brian’s Grandmother

The noted author, Brian Cooper, sent me a note today about a book he’s currently researching.

I’m not sure how many books he’s written in his career. His publisher’s website lists six titles. That kind of output is impressive especially when you factor in his day job as a newspaper writer and editor.

This upcoming book really got my attention because it’s about his family. Brian and I are first cousins so our familial overlap isn’t insignificant.

Today’s conversation was about a photograph of our grandmother, Lillian Kennedy. I took her portrait in 1988 and Brian would like to use it in the book.

Naturally, I said yes.

There’s some controversial family lore about which of the sixteen grandchildren were most beloved. As the first grandchild of Lillian and Stephen B. Kennedy, Brian had a natural advantage. But I was the only son of the only son and also a namesake. These factors may or may not have altered the equation.

Maybe the book will sort this out once and for all.

I can’t wait to read it.

About the author: I am Stephen Kennedy, an experienced photographer with more than 2500 completed sessions in all 50 US states.
