If you’ve ever spent more than an hour in Palm Springs, you know that shade is a valuable commodity. There’s an ongoing treasure hunt for relief from the sun by tourists and locals.
While everyone else is trying to dodge the rays, I’m on the hunt for backgrounds suitable for my street sessions.
The desert color scheme can get a little monotonous so any hint of variance is welcome.
I have yet to meet a photographer that isn’t attracted to graffiti in any shape or form. Even though it’s usually pure vandalism, I can’t turn away.
On a side street, just off of Tahquitz Canyon Road, I found an example of botanical graffiti that turned out to be just what this portrait needed.
