Belated Boise

My most satisfying professional milestone took place in 2013. That’s when I finally made it to all 50 states to take pictures. The last state was Hawaii and the circumstances couldn’t have been better.

Idaho was checked off of my list a long time ago in 1995. I was there on an advertising shoot for NAPA Auto Parts. The location was pretty far off of the beaten path. The closest “big” city was Jackson, Wyoming which is where I flew to before driving to Idaho.

After all of these years of travel, I still had not set foot in Boise. Until last week.

Even before we landed, I could tell that I was going to like this city. Once on the ground, my feelings were confirmed over and over again.

This portrait was from the first of two sessions from the trip. While I worked on the digital files today, I started planning the next trip to my new favorite place.

I now have tickets for a November return.
