Backlot Session: Wes Morgan

I have a one square mile area that surrounds my house which I routinely use for both indoor and outdoor sessions.

I call this my backlot, and it’s better than any set that could be built for any amount of money.

Over the years I have cultivated relationships and earned the trust of folks who let me use their property for my photography sessions.

I have a parallel resource for casting in St. Louis too. My subject, Wes Morgan, is a long-time collaborator. He’s a professional model when he’s not at his day/night job of being a firefighter.

The magic happens when I can bring all of my earned assets together as I did here with this portrait.

This project was for The Hartford and took place just a six-minute walk from my front door.

As it turned out, the gray truck was another item that I got from my favorite local dealer who I had previously worked with on a project for Ford.
