Arts Funding……Salt to Taste

Did you hear about the artist that got rich from a government grant? Neither did I.

As long as I can remember, there’s been a segment of the ruling class that wants to obliterate arts funding, despite the obvious and numerous benefits to society.

I’d speculate that a government’s outlay for the arts is about the same percentage of a family’s budget for salt on the dining table.

Let’s hope that clear-eyed governments keep the shakers filled so that when life presents us with blandness we can reach for some artistic seasoning.
