Apology Tour

This sloganed-up Jeep in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania struck a chord.

I like the spirit of not being sorry for staying true to yourself. By the way, everyone can spot a fake apology from a mile away.

It’s obvious that this decal isn’t about a transgression.

I couldn’t be happier that shame-based aspects of our culture are going away. “You should be ashamed” or the abbreviated “shame on you” are the tools of a top-down system that’s long on control and short on wisdom.

This isn’t advocacy of anarchy. I’m all for following a civil and criminal legal code. However, it’s worth remembering that scarlet letters, pillories, and witch burnings were never about justice.
