Field Trip: Aaron @ Luck Brand

It’s great to work with someone who understands that sometimes expectations and reality will diverge. This is especially true in the heat of the moment when we are waist deep in the creative process. Aaron Luck, the founder and principal of Luck Brand Design in Tulsa, is the kind of creative who innately understands this concept.

Aaron and I recently collaborated on a street studio session in Tulsa under less than optimal weather conditions. That said, sometimes less than optimal can mean better in a different way.

There was this magic moment when we both thought that the session would naturally go one way when in fact, it went in an entirely different direction.

Letting go of our preconceived notions allowed something completely unexpected to take the place of an amorphous concept that we both envisioned.

Living in the moment and seeing what we can do when reality intervenes is the kind of artistic endeavor that’s exactly what I pursue.
