Advice on Advice

Ask me if I’m interested in hearing how the last photographer did his photo shoot or if I want to see where the last sessions took place.

Yes, I do. Not because I want to duplicate what was done before. Instead, I want to learn from someone else’s mistakes.

Here’s why. If someone did a shoot there in the past and I’m the one there in the present, then it makes sense to figure out why the last photographer didn’t earn a return engagement.

When someone offers you a suggestion, it doesn’t cost anything to listen. When someone gives you advice, it won’t hurt to hear them out. Ultimately, you can proceed as you see fit.

Knowing what happened in the past makes it far easier to succeed in the present. Succeeding in the present bodes well for success in the future.
