For me to keep an item or artifactct to commemorate or memorialize means that it’s a big deal.
Then again, so is Hamilton.
I’m not a critic but I know what I like and I’m not alone in my admiration for this work.
I don’t make broad pronouncements but I know that the sun will never set on Hamilton in my lifetime.
It’s worth noting that nobody hired Lin-Manuel Miranda to create this work. The world was not clamoring to see George Washington portrayed by a man of color from Cairo, Illinois.
Exactly five years ago today, my life was changed by this work of art. That’s why the ticket resides in my wallet. It’s a reminder to myself to never stop looking, listening, and creating.
